You have hit on one of the fascinations of languages, that there are sometimes no direct translations. There is are also no direct Spanish translations for the English verbs "wonder" and "care" as in "I wonder what she's doing tonight?" and "I care about her deeply." Just as English does not have a direct translation for "simpatico".

Oh there's much more than that that's gonna seem weird to you. ALWAYS remember-you're translating ideas, not word for word. The sooner you get that out of your mind, the better. Trying to talk in spanish like we do in english usually sounds weird.

To me it's not weird at all... and it's not that I have no toes wink In some languages there aren't such "precise" words.

And in Japanese, "ashi" can mean either "foot" or "leg". Different strokes for different folks.

And in some languages you have to love people from the bottom of your liver because to them loving them from the bottom of your heart is just plain strange!
