Am I right that when you use two verbs right next to each other the second verb is in the infinitive?

for instance

Voy trabajar would be "I go to work"?

You're translation sounds like voy para trabajar.

Voy a trabajo.

ir+a+destination

Not to be confused with ir+a+infinitive (future tense periphrasis)

No puedo ir.

(Yes, the first verb is conjugated and the 2nd or more is not.)

Your example is incorrect, your rule is correct.
