Would the Canadian holiday Remembrance Day be translated El Día de Recuerdo?

What an interesting question. I am not fluent in my espanol yet but I am Canadian. I think in this case we have to look at what the word "remembrance" refers to. It is the day we remember the men and women that have given their lives so we can live in our wonderful free country of Canada. It is veterans day in the Estados Unidas and that is very self explanitory. My point is that in Canada we know what "remembrance" refers to. People in other countries who do not know our cultural idioms I am sure would wonder. "remebrance of what?"
