ASK A QUESTION what is the meaning of "vuelvete"
I tried to enter a page in my Facebook after the session had finished. There was a dialog box with "Tu sesion ha terminado. Por favor, vuelvete a conectar. " written in it. I think the "vuelvete" comes from "volver", but i can't figure out which form of the verb. I tried looking in the conjugation table, but to no avail. Could anybody help me??
Thanks in advance ![]()

Vuelvete is an informal command meaning "return yourself."
vuelve=return (command form) te=yourself (in this context)
In total, the phrase "Tu sesion ha terminado. Por favor, vuelvete a conectar." means "Your session has ended. Please, return to connect." (more or less)

vuélvete a conectar = connect again
vuelve = return, come back
HI smalleye, very nicely set out post![]()
When volver is used as an auxiliary it does not mean come back but it "do again".
Volver a concectar: conect again
The form: imperative second person, vuelve (tú) = vuélvete a conectar![]()

- one more question heidita: is it the same if I say "vuelve a conectar" instead of "vuélvete a conectar"? I mean, without the (tú). - smalleye86 Nov 21, 2009 flag
- vuelve a conectarte - 0068e2f4 Nov 21, 2009 flag
Wait a minute!
vuelve a conectarte and vuélvete a conectar are the same --- right?
There seems to be some confusion here.
- yes that is the same - Heidita Nov 21, 2009 flag
- Si eso es lo mismo. (:D) - EdiOswaldo Nov 21, 2009 flag
"Volver" means to return "te" is the reflexive pronoun meaning yourself the term "vuelvete" is the informal command meaning return or go back. Therefore "vuelvete a conectar" means connect again ![]()
There is another use of volver like in:
Los diamantes se vuelven invisibles cuando se sumergen en agua
Diamonds become invisible when immersed in water.
Por favor, vuélvete millonario y comprame un automóvil nuevo!
Please, get rich and buy me a new car!.
Another synonyms: vuélvete = conviértete = transfórmate
Vuélvete un hombre de mundo y serás admirado por todos.
Conviértete en un hombre de mundo y serás admirado por todos.
Transfórmate en un hombre de mundo y serás admirado por todos.
Become a cosmopolitan man and everyone will admire you.
Heidita is right on. Additionally, "te" in this context doesn't necessarily mean "yourself," but simply re-enforcing the fimiliar form of you. It could also by worded, "Vuelve a conectar." This is the kind of thing where translation can lead you astray. Another example: a song by Carlos y Aída Cuevas called "Vuelveme a Querer." Word-for word translation would make rubbish out of this one ("Return Me To Love'). It really means "Love me Again." In the end, after learning a suitable vocabulary, the thought or complete idea must be translated.
