me vale gorro = i could care less

"I have no opinion one way or another" maybe a burocrat would use such an expression and i have no objection. However, in the provincial south central mexico people would more likely to say "me vale gorro" or possibly "me vale queso" which is a variant. These common usages I know go back many decades and all the Mexican people know what is meant when somebody says "me vale gorro" (or "me vale queso"). A caution to the students here. Do NOT put down "valle gorro" (or "vale queso", or "vale madre" for that matter) on homework or in an examination paper becasue if you do you will be wrong according to the rules of correct language usage
