How do you say "I mean" in Spanish like when you correct yourself? Like, "The party is at five - I mean - at six."

Not like "es decir" when you expand on something you just said.

  • I was thinking "quiero decir", but it doesn't seem to flow in the sentence. - lhm27 Nov 8, 2009 flag

I've often heard "digo." La fiesta es a las cinco -- digo-- a las seis. (not sure of the correct punctuation) There are probably other expressions for this as well.

Generally "I mean" would be "quiero decir" (I want to say...)
