¿Existe en ingles un 'despectivo' para flaco como flacucho, esqueleto, piel y huesos?

Is there any word or expression in english to refer to a skinny or thin person in a negative way?

I would say the term "Scrawny" is a negative way of referring to a skinny person.

Hola leo, bueno yo diria que skinny es lo de flacucho, no es nada halagüeño eso de ser skinny.

Personally, I think "skinny" is a bit of a negative word. Words like "slim" , "trim"or "thin" are somewhat complimentary, but "skinny" is a good translation for "flacucho"

"Scrawny" is another negative word. "Skin and bones" is another somewhat negative word.

"Skeletal" can also be used in a negative way, although it would be correct to use this word for people who have been in starvation.

Bulimic, anorexic, wastrel, skin and bones. . .

  • "bulimic" and "anorexic" refer to thin because of specific eating disorders. They might be too restricted in meaning. - mountaingirl Nov 7, 2009 flag
