We are glad to welcome people from many countries here but yours is very unusual![]()
Please do not use abbreviations like "u" here, we are all learners here and this might be confusing for a learner of English.![]()
Haber is used as an auxiliary in Spanish, very similar to the English word to have, used as an auxiliary.
we also use it to express: there is/are
Asdf has given you some very nice examples.
We hope you like it here![]()
"haber" generally means "there is".
However: In the preterite tense, "hubo", it means "(something) occurred"
When conjugated and put before a participle, it means "to have (done)".
Example:
Hay dos coches en la calle. = There are two cars in the street. Hubo un accidente entre dos coches. = An accident occurred between two cars. He chocado a muchas personas con mi coche. = I have hit many people with my car.
