Freyer wanted to move from Iowa City to New York City, but was having (difficult) difficulties because he had too much stuff. Freyer decided to sell most of his (possess) possessions on eBay and keep only what he could fit in his car.

For each item that Freyer planned to sell, he wrote a short (describe) describing that told a story about the object............

Freyer started by (auction) auctioning each item for $ 1. After the first items sold, he wrote to the new owners to see how his former (belong) belonges were being used. To his surprisse, many of the people wrote back. Freyer posted their (correspond) correspondence at a website he created: allmylifeforsale.com. Freyer then wrote back to the new owners and asked if he could visit them. He received over one hundred (invite) invitations from around the world and found people to be very (welcome) welcoming.

Freyer made $5,000 by selling his things, but by the end of his travels, had only $ 200 left. He made the (decide) decision then to stay in Iowa. Freyer says the experience has made him more (caution) cautioned about the things he lets into his life.

Just a side note, I would use "description" instead of "describing" and "belonges" probably should be "belongings". Also, "lets" at the end should be "let". smile

Cuatious should be spelled cautious - I'm sure it was just a typo - aloshek Nov 7

This may seem like an odd question...but was Freyer at the Writers' Workshop?

Most people in the US laugh about Iowa, let alone a place with the name of "Iowa City", but Iowa City has been named by the UN as one of the 3 Cities of Literature in the world, and the University of Iowa is the home of the internationally known Writers' Workshop.

Welcoming sound awkward to my ear. More commonly in this context I would expect to hear ... found people to be very hospitable.

Welcoming is commonly used where I am from. I guess it sounds normal to me. - Seitheach Nov 7

two reasons: "belonges" is not a word in English (if you intend the 3rd person sing present indicative of the verb "belong", then it would be "belongs"). If you mean the noun (that [the things] which one owns), then it's "belongings".
