Well, I would say take a class
Or use online resources like a translation web site, or better yet, you can purchase CD's and books, or even check them out for free at your local library. Happy learning! ![]()
I think you are on the right track by using this site. I am also learning Spanish, and I am getting more advanced now. I took a condensed 8 week course at a local community college during the summer that helped some. Luckily I studied Spanish for one term at the college in 1997 and had it in High School, but a person forgets when they are not using it. I am also taking personal lessons once a week for 4 hours per lesson from a retired high school Spanish teacher who now teaches from her home. The one-on-one and copious amount of homework has helped a lot. As for the exact answer to your question, I don't think there is a way to learn Spanish "as fast and easy as possible". I believe the only way to learn it, is to first of all believe that you can learn it, and be willing to take the time and effort that it takes to learn it. I think a person needs to be totally devoted to studying as much as possible and trying as hard as they can in order to achieve their goal. I believe commitment and not giving up is the key. So, if you want to learn it as fast and easy as possible, you will probably have to be willing to commit a vast majority of your time studying the language every day, and if you have the extra dollars to take private lessons, that is definitely the way to do it. Good luck to both of us! Rolest
What is your goal? To know a few phrases for a trip or to be fluent? To be fluent, there is no fast and easy. There is a lot of work and dedication. My advice use everything that is available and you can afford. This site is an excellent place to start. Tapes and CDs are a must to practice your pronunciation and comprehension. A good dictionary with plenty of examples of idiomatic expressions and how the words are used and a verb conjugation book are musts. A big part of my learning was watching Spanish TV. Particularly Telemundo because it has closed captioning in both english and spanish. You can learn a lot of phrases that are in common use from the Telenovelas and they are fun. I also used Rosetta Stone because I could afford it. However, it you are on a budget, it is not worth the purchase price in my opinion. I took private lessons for a while. Those helped. However, as far as private intstruction is concerned, nothing I've taken beats the video lessons available for free on this site from Paralee Whitmire. And lastly the ipod (or something similar) and podcasts for learning anytime and anywhere because you will need to practice, practice and more practice. Those are my thoughts. ¡Que tengas suerte!
