No problem! But jsyk, it looks like you found the formatting bar at the TOP of the "Answer this Question" box. I was talking about the link BELOW that box that says: How do I format my post?

Either way will work, but you may find the shortcuts that show up in that box that pops open faster.

Cheers! cool smile

So it works the same for if you want to make links that don't go to websites but maybe to another post or something? or is that the way it works....??

Yep! That's exactly how it works. Technically a different post is treated like a different website, even though it is still inside the SpanishDict.com adress. If you look up at the very top of your internet browser you'll see an 'address bar' or something like that. It shows the address of the web page you're looking at right now. (It probablys says "http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/112662/links-in-questions".)

Now go to a different post and you'll see that it changes. If you want to link to that page, just copy the whole address and paste it into your link

[ link word ] ( website address.com )

(Just don't use spaces. I did it to show the pattern to use. Try it out here! Try going to the Dictionary page, then copy that address and paste a link to it in one of your answers. wink

Well, whatever you type in the brackets [ ] will be the word that people see. For example:

or

???

They both go to the same place. You decide what it looks like. Cool, huh? cool smirk

Ok, another question while I'm at it...you know how people have the yellow box in their answers or questions of things people have said? Do you just copy and paste it?? Let me try that theory....

Now go to a different post and you'll see that it changes. If you want to link to that page, just copy the whole address and paste it into your link

I don't think that worked....

It sure didn't work.....

I guess that's why they put the button on each answer or question that gives you the direct link to that answer or question....
