I will give you some names of fruit that I like from Costa Rica....my favorite is called Cas. The second is called a guanabana....a fruit all to its own, and not a mixture of a guava/banana, laughing out loud!! smile

Do you know of any other fruits?

I suggest dig deep and find some new fruits to learn!!

  • My dad used to get guanábana juice (or punch - I'm not sure) all the time when I was a kid. That stuff was delicious - Izanoni1 Nov 6, 2009 flag
  • I really need to order some!!! I order the platana chips (not banana!) from Costa Rica still, no matter how poor I get as a student, :) - sunshinzmomm Nov 6, 2009 flag

Hi Snickers

If you are interested in learning the names of fruits then there is a flashcard set available here on this site that lists at least 20 or so different fruits. Here is a link to that page: Fruits

If you need help with other topics or are interested in further building your vocabulary there are quite a few flashcard sets listed in the reference section under "vocabulary." Here is a link to that page. Spanish Words

I hope these links are helpful....Oh, by the way, please make sure that you use correct spelling and punctuation in your posts (including capitalizing your words where appropriate) because this site is also designed to help Spanish speakers learn the English language, and as native English speakers, we have the responsibility of setting the example as to what is proper English grammar. After all, we wouldn't want to model our learning of Spanish after words and phrases that were incorrectly spelled or used and it is only fair that, in good faith, we return this favor to the Spanish speakers here who help us grin

We'll help you with pleasure, but can you give some examples from yourself, please?

Hi Snickers. Please be sure to use proper capitalization, spelling, and punctuation in your posts.

I suggest you think of as many fruits as you can (in English) and then look each one up the dictionary. The dictionary is located at the top of this page.

Come back and post any questions you have about what you have found in the dictionary.

Good luck!

Here are a few fruits from the grocery list on another post:

apple, banana, grape, peach, pear, watermelon, cantelope

You could also try:

lemon, lime, kiwi, orange, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, strawberry, apricot, cherry, plum

I'm sure you can think of a lot more, but that should get you started.
