¡Hola!, Macdidds:

We are a learning community where members are trying to learn both Spanish and English. Our English learners read entries in the forum and we want them to see "best practices". Here is some more detail about what Heidita and others need you to consider when making entries or asking questions in the forum. Please don't be upset. We certainly don't want to chase you away, confuse you or have you "ticked" at our customs and practices. Here is a longer outline of our needs:

.............When entering a question in the forum...............
1. Ask in Spanish or English.
2. Spell correctly as best you are able.
3. Do not use chatspeak or texting abbreviations.
4. Use the best English or Spanish grammar you know.
5. Write in complete sentences.
6. Punctuate your sentences properly.
7. Capitalize the 1st word of new sentences and other words requiring capitals.

Heidita is one of our moderators and as she moves quickly among the entries in the forum she doesn't always have time to expand her requests. You are very welcome here in the forum and we want you to enjoy every minute you spend here. I'm sorry if you have found Heidita's comments abrupt or terse. We want you here with us.

To get to your question, I could not find the word "nom" in a Spanish dictionary. Are you able to check your source and verify the spelling of that word??

As to the word "tipo", if you "click" on the following link, you can see the various meanings of that word. Knowing what "tipo" means may help to give some context or meaning to the unknown word. "Click" here for ----> Tipo

Recuerdos/Regards,

Moe

Thank you for taking the time to reply and explain to me. I still have no idea where I went wrong, and if that can be explained to me I would be grateful. I look foward to learning on this site. If I am in the wrong a little patience and an explanation woud go a long way please, that way we all learn, including me.

Thank you

Hi mac, Your post lacked capitalization.wink

This is a learning site, so we try to keep this forum as helpful as possible and one of the rules is to use correct spelling and capitalization as we are all learners heregrin

Please read the few rules of this site and you will find your way around more easilywink

Your question was a little confusing: tipo nom? Where did you see this? Any context?

Hola Mcdidds!

In the sentence you wrote you are missing the question mark at the end of the question and the W in "what" should be capital because it is the at the beginning of a new sentence.

It should look something like this.:

What does "tipo nom" mean?

I hope i was able to help you smile
