Hola !

How do you use VOS in verbs while asking questions ? they say it is used in Argentina ..like "Que lenguas hablás?" instead of "Que lenguas hablas?" and so on.

can you give me some info or a URL to learn this?

Gracias

Don't you just love the whole "vos" deal? It's also used in many countries besides Argentina... A Venezuelan friend explained to me that the "vos" verb form is taken off the "vosotros" form for -ar and -er verbs. Just drop the "i" out. Therefore: Vos hablás, vos nadás, vos comés, vos tenés, etc. For -ir verbs, just use the "vosotros" -ir form. Therefore: vos vivís, vos preferís, etc. Follow the same guideline for the present of the subjunctive. All other simple tenses in both moods coincide with the "tú" forms.

Also, as Carlos mentioned, it replaces "ti" as an object. "Tengo un regalo para vos."

If you want to drive speakers of "standard" Spanish crazy, just use the "vos" form once in awhile... I used to use it when speaking to my neighbor from Spain...drove him nuts in a fun way!

According to RAE:

Pron. person. Arg., Bol., C. Rica, El Salv., Nic., Par., Ur. y Ven. Forma de 2.ª persona singular. Cumple la función de sujeto, vocativo y término de complemento. Su paradigma verbal difiere según las distintas áreas de empleo.

This means that: Tú = Vos

That's for "vosotros". The "voseo" is something different. - samdie Nov 6

Vosotros is plural of the tu form so if you meet a friend on hjs own you could say !Hola¡ ¿cómo estás? but if he is with his wife or a few more friends you would say ¿cómo estáis? thus addressing all of them so to ask more than one person in the same instance what languages do they speak you would say ¿Qué lenguas habláis? so that is the general rule for the familiar form so for starters just study the verb congugations for present indicative click on more at the top of this page and then congugations from the drop down menu and choose any action verb.

I also asked the question, "Was Vos ever used for a form of discrimination?" The answer was yes.....it allowed certain countries, such as Argentina, to talk in a way that others would not understand.
This would make an interesting thread smile
