When im doing the writing portions of the learn spanish part of the website I find I lose a lot of point because I can't type as fast as it takes to get all ten points. So i was wondering if anybody had any tips to get all the points. Or do I have to be a fast typer. So if you can tell me any thing to help me it would be cool. grin

Concentrate on getting them correct and don't worry about the points. All the points mean is that you are a proficient typist (especially concerning making the Spanish characters). The points mean nothing in the overall scheme of the lessons, so don't worry about them. Concentrate on getting 20 out of 20 correct and ignore the timed aspect of the lesson. I have no idea why they are timed.

Teachers grade their students based on their Spanishdict.com scores? Something is not right about that. - jrey0474 Nov 4

I agree with Q that the points don't matter, but I like the timing feature, even though I can never type fast enough to get a perfect score. I think the timer provides that little bit of pressure that we feel in an actual conversation to come up with the right word quickly, without taking a long time to think of the right way to say it. Practicing quick recall in the exercises can only help increase our conversational recall. I'd bet there is also some sort of physiological or cognitive-learning theory on time-pressured learning and retention, but I might just be making that up.

Y tambien puedes re-hacer cada pregunta, hasta tu has recibido mas puntos!
Para mi, este es un gran motivacion. Yo trato tres veces, mas o menos, hasta mis puntos son suficiente para me orgulloso!

Buena suerte!

I would have to agree with Quentin on this. Learning is more important than the points. However, I have done most of the lessons repeatedly just so that I can remember everything. In doing this, I have found that over a period of time, my speed increases naturally. This is because the words I struggled with in the beginning have now been committed to memory.

So sorry, there are no magic tricks. Just old-fashioned repetition and practice. But believe, me you will never regret all of the practice!
