I am a native speaker of peninsular Spanish and we would only ever say "televisor" (without an accent, but pronounced te-le-vi-SOR) if we're talking about the physical thing. "la televisión" refers to the program. I have never heard "el televisión".

Asdfghjkl4 is right. El Televisor is Spanish for TV Set, and it's not just 'peninsular Spanish'. La/El televisión is Spanglish for TV set. grin

The lesson mentioned above has it translated as "televisór." That surprised me when I first saw it.

  • The translator also has the actual set as televisor. - Seitheach Nov 4, 2009 flag
