Why do I do flashcards and then recall first?

I have found that if I study in this order it sticks better in my long term memory:

  1. I study "flashcards" first.
  2. Then do "recall" pausing and using the "retry" feature until I get most of them correct.
  3. Then I do "recall,"
  4. Then "listen."
  5. Now I relax and listen to our lovely teaher and I get more out of the lesson, enjoy it more, and it sticks better in my long term memory. I hope this helps. Your opinions welcome and appreciated.
