Sometimes we use "helpless" in English to refer to someone who always asks for help doing things that they should be able to do themselves. Is there a word for this in Spanish?

For example, perhaps I am preparing dinner and my son is watching TV. If he asks me to do something, I might say, "You're not helpless, you need to do that yourself." We might say, "I wish she wouldn't act so helpless all the time. She always wants everyone else to do her work, and it gets annoying."

In your examples, the word 'helpless' seems an exaggeration expressed out of frustration. We might also use 'worthless' or 'useless' in the examples you gave, and 'Inútil' conveys that meaning.
