Is los Mediavilla a place in Spain? "La pequena de los Mediavilla se pasaba..."

I am reading La Rama Seca por Ana María Matute quien es de España. "La pequena de los Mediavilla se pasaba el día hablando, al paracer, con alguien." The story is a little girl and a lady that lives next door. I am thinking that the sentence means: "The little girl from Mediavilla passed the day talking, it appeared, with somebody."
