I am trying to roughly say that "the reason for this situation comes from the inherent culture of Mexico, and the dominant idea - machismo. In Australia machismo is not a popular idea, however, emos face persecution here also"
Thanks, any help would be greatly appreciated (if you want the context of the situation I'm discussing emo bashing in Mexico). And I'm particularly unsure about the first bit. Thanks again!

Here's a thought that might convey the inherentness [have I just invented a word?!] of the attitude: "la razón causante de esta actitud reside en la cultura misma de Mexico con la influencia extendida del machismo." ("residir en" - to lie in)....This sounds like an extremely interesting topic and I think your Spanish is stellar!
Thank you, your sentence sounds perfect for what I want to say. And thanks for the compliment, I really want to improve my spanish!
