Últimos años

Hi

I want to translate 'últimos años'. I was considering the obvious option 'last year' but I'm not sure if it has the same meaning than in Spanish (meaning 2008, 2007...).

I think that los últimos años would mean the last few years, and el último año would mean the last year.

If I wanted to say last year I'd say el año pasado.
