I want to say: "The Virgen of Guadalupe became the banner of the revolt, of the people.
Do you think there is a better way to say this? I have: "La Virgen de Guadalupe se convirtió en el estandarte de la revuelta, la gente." I know it is okay, but I want it to sound natural to a native speaker (i.e. mi profe)
