Off topic remark. There have been several threads here lately discussing the difference between el que and que as relative pronouns and the use of el cual was thrown in. Notice how is is used here to introduce a non-defining, clause separated from its antecedent by a comma. It's other common use is right after the noun (antecedent) but following a preposition.

Un portavoz militar estadounidense en la provincia de Anbar, donde se encuentran Ramadi y Faluyá en el occidente de Irak, confirmó la explosión del sábado en el puente de la carretera, el cual se ubica cerca de dos bases militares iraquíes que albergan tropas estadounidenses.

El mismo sábado, un ataque a una caravana del ejército iraquí justo en las afueras de la ciudad de Faluyá mató a cuatro soldados iraquíes y dejó heridos a 14, dijo un policía de la urbe, la cual está ubicada a unos 65 kilómetros (40 millas) al oeste de Bagdad.
