Conceptually, how does encontrarse fit that translation? I am a psychologist reading a spanish online training on Autism in order to better communicate with Spanish speaking parents. The full sentence is -Durante esta capitación, Usted repasará el Artículo 1055 (e), párrafos 1 a 11, del Capítulo 89 de las Normas de la Comisión que se encuentran vigentes desde noviembre de 2007-. I know that this means the law have been in force since november 2007. I do not know how the verb encontrarse applies in this context.

Thanks,

Matt : - )

Encontrarse vigente, encontrarse apagado, encendido....this is just one of the uses of the verb encontrar.

  1. prnl. Hallarse en cierto estado. Encontrarse enfermo.

  • I think the context was confusing to me. It made sense as applies to a person, just not applying to something more abstract such as law. - yogamat Oct 15, 2009 flag
