Es un regalo de boda = it is a wedding gift, and as regalar is a verb you could add mi mejor amigo nos regala lo or la depending on the gender of the gift. My best friend gave it us.

There is an intern at work with whom I can speak Spanish (he is much better than I am) and he just got married last week. I said to him when I surprised him with a wedding gift: "Tengo un pequeño regalo de boda para tí, es algo de Oaxaca." It was a tin heart with flames and crown, hammered and painted in bright enamels. He was very surprised and pleased! Thank you for your help.

I wanted part of my gift in a sense to be presenting it to him properly en español - porque estoy tan agradecida que él habla español conmigo.

I think it might be: el regalo de boda But I'm not sure, so, ¡Espero que sea gran ayuda!

That is SO sweet of you! I bet he was really touched by both your gift and how you presented it to him.
