I sometimes over think which verb tense to use concerning the imperfect past and the preterit. That only happens once in awhile, but enough to be annoying. I'm still working on the subjunctive endings. And also, like you, I occasionally have problems with "listening", especially when people talk too fast for my comfort level.

For me the word would be "is" and not "was".

From easiest to hardest: reading, writing, listening, speaking.

I still make simple mistakes with por vs. para, ser vs estar, imperfect vs. preterite, and the use of the subjunctive, but I am improving.

Telling which -ar and -er verbs are otherwise regular stem changers is my biggest problem right now, along with stress shifting words. Memorization is not my strong suit, so vocabulary is an issue as well.

Prepositions. Hands down. For some reason they're like teflon to me - they just won't stick. It is almost comical the number of times that I have had to revisit usage rules for various prepositions.

Speaking. I have a decent ear for sound distinction, and when I speak it sounds akward to my ears. While I know that practice should help me improve, it is still frustrating at times when I hear the words come out of my mouth differently than I originally intended them to be spoken. Challenge is good for the spirit. cool smile

Para mi es los verbos ( la conjugación correcta) y poder comprender cuandos hablan los españols. Puedo leer español pero escuchar para comprender es muy díficil para mi.

I have to admit that the hardest thing for me is... writing. Though I have no major problems with formulating my thoughts, but... well, I've been answering some questions about films from my student's book and I do feel exhausted. And then I'll feel miserable when I see all the corrections! I'm sure that learning to write properly is the most difficult thing when mastering language skills and sometimes I just feel helpless. I know that I've been learning Spanish only a few months and there are thousands of learning hours ahead... yet when I have to write even a short paragraph, my mouth goes dry and I'm all thumbs... Can you believe it?
