If the verb is not in the tú form, "se" would be used reflexively. Does that help?

This is incorrect. If the direct object pronoun refers back to the subject then it is reflexive. In this case your subject is the 2nd person singular (tú form), but your object pronoun is in the 3rd person (or 2nd person formal), so it is not used reflexively.

The types of verbs that you are referring to are "pronomials" and the reflexive use is just one of the possible ways that they can be used. Here is a previous thread on the use of pronomials that includes all the relevant links to the reference section and expands upon some of these.

I´ve notice four uses for the word Se so far.

  1. sé: to know
  2. se: reflexive verb
  3. se: the indirect object pronoun of LE when posted next to another pronoun starting with the letter l (phew)
  4. se: if

I myself am going to need practice on understanding the contextual clues for understanding the uses of SE.

Buena suerte.
