If you are at a party and all the men are in a corner of a room and someone says where are the wives. Oh, "las esposas" are outside by the pool.... That's just the monogamist in me coming out. grin

OK - I add translation...

la esposa - wife

las esposas - handcuffs

  • BTW - is polygamy accepted in any Spanish speaking country - or the answer is encoded in language itself? ;) - Behemoth Oct 6, 2009 flag

Cara in Spanish can be: Face or expensive. Can also be one of the two parts of a coin.

"Ella tiene una cara muy bonita". She has a pretty face.

"En ese país la vida es muy cara". Life is very expensive in that country.

"Cara o sello" ("Cara o cruz"). Heads or tails.

Remember, you can also say "Rostro" for "Cara"
