-Si no quieres esperar en el coche, tenemos un boleto extra

Hace cuatro meses, mi marido, un amigo y yo viajamos a Mexico D.F. Fuimos a un evento en un taxi, y lo dije a la taxista -Si no quieres esperar en el coche, tenemos un boleto extra- Me Entendió y fue al evento con nosotros. Pero ¿Dije mal? El taxista fue aproximadamente el mismo edad que yo, entonces creo que tutearle fue ok, ¿pero debía decir -quieras- en mi pregunta porque no supe sí el querría esperar o no? Pregunté a mi amigo, que también es estudiante de español, y el dijo no, pero todavía no estoy segura.

I need practic writing in Spanish, but I'm not sure I got everything right above, so I'll ask again in English.

Four months ago, my husband, a friend and I traveled to Mexico City. We went to an event in a taxi and I said to the taxi driver: "Si no quieres esperar en el coche, tenemos un boleto extra" He understood and came to the event, but did I say it wrong? He was about the same age as me, so I think that using the tu endings was ok, but should I have said "Si no quieras" in the subjunctive, because I didn't know if he would want to wait or not? I asked my friend, who is also is a student of spanish and he said no because it wasn't a subordinate clause, but I'm still not sure.

Any comments would be appreciated on this, about whether or not I should have used the subjunctive, and also about my attempt to ask the question in Spanish above.

Oh, and one more thing I thought of as I was writing this...is there an order in which I should list a group of people. I said "mi marido, un amigo y yo", but could I have said "yo, mi marido y un amigo"? Does the order matter?

HI Teresa, I agree with Gus, here in Spain it would be the most used form too.

No subjunctive here, your form was correct. If you have any doubt about subjunctive, look at the reference articles on the site

The order does matter just like in English.

Your question to the taxi driver was correct. tu is used in Mexico most of the time.
