I found the following explanations:

  1. A “flaquito” is a flour tortilla rolled around a filling (usually chicken or beef) and deep fried. A “flauta” is is flour (or corn) tortilla rolled around a filling and deep fried. A “taquito” is a corn (or flour) tortilla rolled around a filling and deep fried. Flaquitos are much less popular than the very similar (some would say identical) flautas and taquitos.

  2. "Flaquito" is a diminuative of "flaco", meaning "thin, skinny" (may refer to either someone who is too thin or as a 'pet name' of someone we really like/love)

I think the context of the word would help to understand its meaning and usage.

In another post someone asked for the meaning of gordita, flaquito is exactly the opposite of gordita and it is used too to refers affectingly to a male friend or relative.
