You earned the Provocative Answer badge for "I´m glad that spanish speaking populations are so receptive to learners."

The way I see it should be granted to Philmikki.

???

Of course - I'm not complaining cheese

Behemoth,

I think you should just take the badge and enjoy it. I think Phil is giving this as a gift to you because he knows of your lack of sunshine and impending grumpiness. Hopefully, this will cheer you up enough during the rainy days in the UK.

Felicitaciones,

Nicole

cool smile (I'm wearing sunglasses because it is sunny here. Sorry.)

There indeed seems to be a bug with the Provocative Answer badge. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I've addressed some of the other issues discussed here in this thread.

Sorry, and thanks for your understanding!

If you don't want it, you can send it to me. I've got a little space in my closet for it. wink

Where did that message showed up? In a private mail or somewhere else?

I know that Nicole and others are having problems receiving points, etc. so maybe there's a system glitch somewhere?

Yeah - I don´t receive my points, but I get extra badges wink Hmmmm...

I haven´t noticed anything strange about the badging but sometimes I don´t get the Reputation points I´ve earned. It´s not a big deal because I´m here to learn, not get a score...

I don't know about points glitches, but a badge glitch occurred when I posted a comment on somebody else's post. The badge should go to him, but, it went to me instead... Perhaps there is a coding bug, or a similar issue? I have no idea.

Interesting....I noticed that after comments to one of my answers went beyond 10, other people commenting on it started getting the Provocative Answer badge. I thought maybe I just misunderstood how it worked, but it seems maybe there is a bug in the badge system.

  • I've also not received points for days when voting up good answers....maybe it's an even bigger issue. - arnold3 Oct 1, 2009 flag

Oo, oo, can I make another dig about the fact that the website's written in PHP so is bound to be buggy? (don't worry, I shan't really, I can accept that some people just know no better)

Missing points for voting things up? How many rep points do you have so far? I've noticed that people with a higher amount of points (say, >800) don't get points for voting things up, but people with lower amounts of points do seem to. This may be coincidental, incidental, accidental, or intentional. Comment here how many points you have and whether you do/don't get awarded points for voting things and we can work it out grin

Another bug I spotted is the Joined date as stated on the left of the user profile page - mine says September 13th (no way correct), yet according to my feed on the right, I joined April 20 (sounds correct).

So yes, some of the features are buggy and possible insecure as inputs aren't sanitised, but it seems to hobble along and get the content to us all no problem, so we shall just call it "character" grin

  • jejeje yeah, overall this site is excelente...and free to boot! ;-) - arnold3 Oct 1, 2009 flag
  • oh, and you must be right about the >800 thing....I _think_ that's around when I stopped getting points for voting answer up, i.e. when I broke 800 - arnold3 Oct 1, 2009 flag
  • scratch that...I see others who are >800 are getting points for voting up answers...so still no clue re my situation. - arnold3 Oct 1, 2009 flag

Lol I noticed the join date problem too... On my page, it has join date on the side, and an 'activity' section which says 'JCameron joined SpanishDict'

The dates are two days apart. Also, I noticed that another user was completing lessions and getting points before the activity section recognized that they had joined.
