Ah, that would be another pronunciation rule. No joke, if the word begins with the letter 'r' then yes, you do roll the 'r'. If you can't roll your 'r' don't worry, you'll still be understood.

because the pronunciation only varies in the middle of a word, not at the beginning. In other words double r's and beginning of a word r's sound the same.
