Situation: You're watching Spanish television. You don't understand what the guy just said. You ask your Spanish speaker friend "What does what mean (what he said) ?" or "What is the meaning of what he's saying?" I've used ¿Cómo se dice...? about literal objects but I wouldn't know how to ask the question I'm having trouble with. Could you say, "¿Qué quiere decir?" like "What does he mean?" I'm stumped.
