I would like to tell a friend that I would like us to meet and catch up (on news, etc)

How would you convey the equivalent of "catch up" in Spanish?

Thanks!

Pay attention to definition 3 on this site and later links like catch up on old times.

ponerse al corriente

catch up

  • Thanks. I looked online and saw "ponerse al dia" and "ponerse al corriente"...do you know the difference between the two? - strawberryto Sep 26, 2009 flag

This is a great question. I'd like to hear some responses to this. I would have used "charlar" which is "to chat" but, that definitely misses some of the connotations of "catching up"... what do others think?

Placemos. Such a broad word. If I say to someone I haven't seen in a dogs age, I say debemos que placer...implication we are going to catch up on old times. wink
