I thought I would start a thread to practice by writing a sentence with the word of the day. Please feel free to write your own sentence or give feedback to mine.

Despues del jurado anunciaron el veredicto, el juez puse un castigo de tres años de encarcelamiento.

• This is a great idea. I think, though, that "el juez puso un castigo". "Puse" would be if you gave the punishment. - lisa13 Sep 23, 2009
