Should I use "tal vez" or "Quizas" in a sentence like "perhaps that is why I am undertaking a high risk activity" . Thus should I write "Tal vez es por eso que estoy realizando una actividad de alto riesgo"or "Quizas es por eso que estoy realizando una actividad de alto riesgo"

Yes, you would use Tal vez here.

There isn't exactly a difference, someone else might be able to better explain to you what you could say is the "difference", and be more acurate, I will try to explain it to you.

Tal vez is used to say maybe, or perhaps (something will happen).

Quizas is used to say maybe (Like saying: luckily, hopefully)

Although this isn't the clearest, I hope it helps a little, I've just always understood the difference, and never really tried to strain to figure it out.

I would wait for someone else to come a help you, but here's a link from a previous similar question: Quizas y tal vez intercambiables?

Hi Bruce. Welcome to the forum.

I've seen this question asked often, and the main consensus is that they are interchangeable.

It's quizá and quizás.

Don't forget your accents.
