I am supposed to be able to pick out the adverbs in this "dialogue," but honetsly, this is no dialogue, it's two sentences. The directions tell me I'm supposed to find five adverbs...?? help!

There are not five adverbs in those sentences.

"Vi a Martín esta mañana. Me dijo que piensa en ti a menudo."

There are two adverbs (more accurately, adverbial phrases) in your sentence "esta mañana" (modifying "vi") and "a menudo" (modifying "piensa"). Perhaps the person who wrote the instructions did not bother to read the example sentences.
