  • Hi vino, I dont' know if this is the appropiate title, but I guess this is what you were trying to say. No need to do the lessons fast. Look at the change of category. - Heidita Sep 14, 2009 flag

I think it is great that you are learning a new language, despite being physically challenged. I also have a spinal injury from a car accident, which causes several problems, although I don't think my problems are as difficult at yours.

I'm sure everyone here will be patient as you learn to work the microphone. So enjoy learning and thanks for being an encouragement to others!

That's a good point, the flash bits on the site are mouse only... even the multiple choice bits that have a/b/c/d don't respond to you pressing (or saying in this case) that letter, you have to click it. Being able to tie those options to keys (which in turn can be pressed by the voice software) would increase accessiblity to more people who want to learn. This is potentially a fairly small change (although multiplied by the number of lessons) depending on how modular the code was written.

How does one go about getting in touch with the developers of this site? Do they read much of the forum? (anyone know?)

Failing that I may be able to offer some help myself, as I've already begun writing some basic software for my own learning of the language.

Vino - there is another good course I highly recommend that is audio only by Michel Thomas which aims to teach more by explanation than repetition. This may also be a good start for you, as allow you to pick up basics of the language without at the same time going through the frustration of using voice software on a site that's perhaps not as ready for it as it could be, which doesn't prime the brain totally for learning something as abstract as a new language.
