Well, this is your first stop. This is an excellent, effective and free site (and I'm not an employee!) that you can use to begin to learn spanish. Do your lessons, expose yourself, with the television or spanish speaking people in your area, learn what you can about the culture, etc. With just a little time, you'll be speaking spanish with the best of them! But why not make your primary goal to understand written and spoken spanish, and your secondary goal to speak spansh?

That is a wonderful explaination! I have another suggestion. Don't try to learn all of the hard words first and dont mix the spanish words with eachother. Learn one thing at a time. For example, Learn greetings one week and then colors the next week. The most important thing in my opinion is to use them in your everday life. So instead of saying " I need a new bookbag." You can say " I need a new mochila." One very important thing is your El's and La's. Femine and Masculine. Most of the time El words end in O and La words end in A. Some words don't follow this pattern though so you have to watch them. But I do belive that if you are ont his site you will learn spanish. Just know it doesn't come easy. Adios!
