Which is the correct translation for the phrase: (I have been living in Atlanta 4 years?)

I think it is: me mude a Atlanta hace cuatro años. But I've been told to say: He vivido cuatro años en Atlanta. Please help! Thanks.

He vivido en Atlanta desde hace cuatro años (?). I never quite got a handle on "desde hace"

Also, Spanish sometime uses the simple present or past tense to express this present or past perfect construction.

Vivo en Atlanta desde hace cuatro años.

I have been living in Atlanta for 4 years. (desde hace implies that you still are living there)

If you wish to emphasize the point/time at which you started living in Atlanta, "desde hace" is fine. If you wish to emphasize the duration/period of time, "llevo 4 años viviendo en Atlanta would (I think) be better.

How about: Llevo 4 años viviendo en Atlanta. or Sigo viviendo an Atlanta desde hace 4 años. they're both used often enough

Even though the translations are correct, the Spanish sentences do not indicate that you still live in Atlanta , unlike the English ones.

In Spanish the best way to translate "I have lived" "I have been living" is : LLevo (viviendo en ...)

Llevo en Atlanta 4 años. Vivo en Atlanta desde hace cuatro años.
