How do you say "nice to meet you" to a spanish man? Is it different when you say it to a spanish woman?
How do you say "nice to meet you" to a Spanish man? Is it different when you say it to a Spanish woman? My friend said your answer varies on your gender, not the gender of the person you are meeting and I disagreed.

It depends on which way you say it. If you say "Encantado/a" you change the ending to match YOUR gender. Or you can say "Mucho gusto en conocerle/te" in which case gender doesn't matter, but you need to decide whether to use the formal or informal "you".
Or you can be really lazy and just say "Mucho gusto." ![]()
Also, you can say "Mucho gusto en conocerlo/la", which is probably the context that your friends are talking about. In South America "lo" and "la" are used instead of "le" which is mostly used in Spain. You should use "lo" or "la", if you are meeting a person that is significantly older than you or has a place of respect...Does that make sense?
Of course, if you are taking about yourself
