What is the most common way of saying hello and good-bye on the phone?

What are the most common greetings and/or phrases used in phone conversations. Is there much variation from country to country?

well here in mexico when you answer the phone you say ´bueno´

the most common way is hola or adios which is hello and goodbye. usually a whole conversation begins with hello and sometimes you dont even notice it!!!
