Reputation, Badges, and Points

On SpanishDict, people from around the world come together to form a fun and vibrant community. Member participation in the community is acknowledged and rewarded through Reputation, Learning Points, and Badges. Give us one minute of your time to explain these and you'll be on your way.

 

Reputation

Reputation measures your contributions to the SpanishDict community. The more high quality questions and answers you offer—as voted on by other members of the community—the more Reputation you will receive. You can earn up to 200 Reputation per day. As your Reputation increases, you will earn the right to participate in the site in more ways. Here is how it works:

When you... You receive...
Are chosen as the best answer by someone else 20 reputation
Submit a phrasebook entry that is published 20 reputation
Are voted up on a question or answer 10 reputation
Vote for someone else's question or answer 1 reputation
Get flagged -10 reputation
Earning Reputation will unlock the following privileges:

The right to send private messages 10 reputation
The right to vote on questions and answers 15 reputation
The right to submit phrasebook entries 30 reputation
The right to flag questions and answers 100 reputation
The right to edit questions and answers 2000 reputation
Reduced advertising throughout the site 4000 reputation
The right to create and edit reference articles 5000 reputation
 

Learning Points

Learning Points are a fun way to keep track of your learning progress on SpanishDict. As you complete lessons and work your way through the flashcard sets, you will earn more Learning Points. This is a good way for you to see how far you've come as you learn Spanish and provide a little motivation to stick with it. Here are how Learning Points work:

When you... You receive...
Answer a question correctly on any of the flashcard games Up to 10 points
Watch a Learning Video 100 points
Complete a Writing Exercise 150 points
Complete a Speaking Exercise 150 points
 

Badges

Badges are awarded on SpanishDict for achievements big and small. You can earn a badge for posting a good answer, completing a language course, or for making your first flashcard set.
